Jakarta, what & where

I really love to issue the initial posting by describing the History of Jakarta, the City (with the big C !) that I live in. I was trying to google it and I even browse the official Jakarta Government site (www.jakarta.go.id). Well, unfortunately it isn't there. Guess I have to find it through books or magazines or the most reliable source in Internet: wikipedia (http://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jakarta).

So… there will be nothing new here, I only quoted here and there to be compiled in one short (and hopefully comprehensive) summary …

About Jakarta

Jakarta is a capital city of Indonesia.

Indonesia itself is a nation of archipelago which is beautifully located in the Equator, in Indonesia we called it "Zamrud Khatulistiwa".

Indonesia has 5 major islands and thousands of small islands, the 5 are called Sumatra (Swarna), Jawa (Java), Kalimantan (Borneo), Sulawesi (Celebes),  Bali & Nusa Tenggara, and Irian Jaya (Papua).
